About

The 30,000 Trees Initiative aims to support environmental restoration and community resilience in rural Cambodia through forest regeneration, education, and sustainable vegetable cultivation. The project will establish micro-nurseries, grow and distribute diverse native trees, and develop educational materials to empower local communities in environmental stewardship.

This small-scale pilot will focus on the Battambang and Siem Reap regions, with potential for expansion as funding allows. The initiative builds on the first planting of trees at the Cambodia Peace Gallery Garden in Battambang in January 2025.

Sustainability & impact

The initiative fosters long-term environmental care by combining education with action. By empowering local communities with knowledge and tools, the project aims to create a replicable, low-cost model for ecological restoration and climate resilience in Cambodia.
